Then vs. now: A closer look at October Dreams Photography’s improvements

Happy new year! Can you believe it’s already been three years since the launch of October Dreams Photography?! We sure can’t. But since it’s January, now is the perfect time to reflect on how far the business has come. Ashley has done dozens of photoshoots (what?!) since our start in 2020, and we’re incredibly proud of how much she has improved. Here are some comparisons from our favorite sessions over the years!

Ashley did graduation photos for both of her little sisters, Amanda and Annabelle. The differences between these champagne photos are astounding! She learned how to work with lighting to create beautiful shots that need less editing.

Longtime followers might remember that this Christmas session with Elise was our very first blog post, so we had to recreate it! The first one was in a studio with bright lights, a white backdrop, and white trees to make Elise’s Christmas jammies pop. In 2022, we decided to go for a more homey feel and got more creative with props like ornaments and Ashley’s Nightmare Before Christmas tree!

Outdoor shoots can be a challenge with unpredictable natural lighting. This June 2021 model shoot is a perfect example of using shadows to our advantage.

Couple/engagement shoots are some of our favorites to do. We love capturing the romance between two beautiful people! These are good examples of the lighting improvements that came in just one year.

Nothing keeps us on our toes like a family shoot involving a toddler! Still, we’ve loved capturing your little ones in photos, even if they’re candid and chaotic.

More couples’ shoots in our favorite time of year: fall! We have FALLen in love with golden hour shots. (Sorry, had to.) We also love the way Brenna and Konner (right) stand out with that background blur!
